“Corruption has invaded the Nigeria sports, and I know that President Buhari is one who doesn’t take any nonsense when it comes to fighting corruption,” Amokachi said.
Amokachi also revealed that some talented Nigeria youths would have to pay as much as N250,000 each for them to get into the U-17 team in Nigeria.
“In Nigeria football today, a coach will ask the youths invited to the national team to bring N250,000 each for them to get into the U 17 team, whereas they have the talent to play and so many talents have been wasted just because they had no money to pay.
“A small team cannot also win the Nigerian League because all the people in Nigeria football are corrupt,” Amokachi said.
Daniel Amokachi was born on December 30 1972, and he played 44 games for the Super Eagles scoring 13 goals. He also assisted the late duo of Shuaibu Amodu and Stephen Keshi at the Nigeria men senior national team.
