The founder of the El-Bethel Parish of the Celestial Church of Christ, Itaaka, Abeokuta, Michael Adeniran has been arrested for impregnating a 15-year-old girl, Mary.
The Ogun state police said the pastor was arrested following a complaint from Mary’s
mother on Saturday, November 5.
Spokesperson for Ogun state police command Abimbola Oyeyemi said Mary, a senior secondary school 2 girl was a member of Adeniran’s church before the incident.
Oyeyemi, an assistant superintendent of police said Mary’s mother ran to the police after she noticed her daughter was pregnant.
“Trouble started when the complainant noticed that her daughter was pregnant and she mounted pressure on her to disclose who was responsible for the pregnancy,” Oyeyemi said.
“The mother, who could not believe what she heard, reported to the police. The Divisional Police Officer, Adigbe division, Onatufeh Omoh, detailed detectives to arrest the randy pastor,” he said.
