As threatened recently, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu,
the defeated candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just-concluded governorship election in Edo state, has led a massive protest against the result of the exercise which favouredGodwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Since the final result of the election was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (EFCC) on September 29, supporters of Pastor Ize-Iyamu have led various protests in Benin, the state capital while Governor Adams Oshiomhole and his APC supporters have continued to celebrate.

While addressing the crowd of supporters at the city centre, Ize-Iyamu thanked them for standing by him and for being peaceful throughout the exercise.
Being a pastor, he said he actually asked God to whether to forgo the election and face his life, but “I heard Him clearly asking me to pursue and recover all without fail.”
